ABOUT THE RBT SCHOLARSHIP

Texas Southern University possesses an impressive array of more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs and concentrations, a diverse faculty, 80-plus student organizations, and an extensive alumni network comprised of educators, entrepreneurs, public servants, lawyers, pilots, artists, and more, many of whom are change agents on the local, national and international stage.

Music Department

The mission of the Department of Music at TSU is to accept students at their level of expertise and provide them with the academic and professional musical training to help them find their relevance on the urban and global stage. This is achieved through curricular offerings designed to lay a strong musical foundation in preparation for a diverse array of music careers including performers, conductors, composers, church musicians, school or private studio educators, music industry professionals, and for graduate/advanced studies in a variety of areas. ​

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for administering the Ronald B. Thornton (RBT) Scholarship Fund and granting scholarships to eligible TSU students according to the scholarship program guidelines.
