Ronald B. Thornton Scholarship   Frequency:  Annual Deadline:  October 1	Any current band member classified as a Sophomore (31-60 hrs.), Junior (61-90 hrs.), or Senior (91-120 hrs.), by Texas Southern University standards.	Demonstrated excellence in Band, overall GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.	Submit a completed application, unofficial transcript, and supporting documents to the Ronald B. Thornton Scholarship Committee before the deadline.
Ocean of Soul Section of the Week   Frequency:  Weekly Deadline:  Friday of each week	Any section of the Ocean of Soul Marching and Concert Band.	Demonstrated excellence in the band program.	Band Director submits winners of the section of the week to the Ocean of Soul Alumni Association; selected by the active Alumni Chapter membership.
*NEW- Ocean Wave Academic Achievement (individual)   Frequency:  Semi- Annual Deadline:  End of academic term following term applied for award.	Any undergraduate student participating full-time in the Ocean of Soul Marching and Concert Band.	Highest GPA of an undergraduate Band student for a given academic term. (4-point scale)	Submit application form and a copy of individual grade report to the Ocean of Soul Alumni Association.
*NEW- Academic Achievement (section) Frequency:  Semi-Annual Deadline:  End of academic term following term applied for award.	Any section of the Ocean of Soul Marching and Concert Band.	Chapter with the highest cumulative GPA for a given academic term.  (4-point scale)	Submit application form and a copy of individual grade report to the Ocean of Soul Alumni Association.
Ocean of Soul Hall of Fame and Ocean Honors Frequency: Annual Deadline: TBA	Individuals who have rendered Exceptional service to the Ocean of Soul Marching band and band music.	Must have made an outstanding contribution to bands and band music at the multiple levels.	Submit nomination to the Ocean of Soul Alumni Association; selected by the Hall of Fame Committee
