By-Laws & Constitution Committee	Will Review & Update Chapter By-Laws & Constitution As Needed To Stay Aligned With TSUNAA.	Chair: TBD
Membership Committee	​Will Collaborate & Think Of Different Ways To Increase & Retain Members Annually. Membership Drive Events Are Preferred.	Chair: Ms. Mellinna Ridout
Toiletry Drive Committee	Will collect and distribute tilietries to the current band students periodically.	Chair: Ms. Joselyn Coats
Ocean Homecoming Committee	Organize and plan homecoming events, vendors, etc. for current & former Ocean of Soul Members.	Chair: Ms. LaQuandra Gray
Motion of the Ocean Alumnae	Will raised funds and host fundraising events to support the Motion of the Ocean Dance Squad.	Chair: Ms. Biannka Jones ​Co-Chair: Ms. Kaelyn Scurlock ​
Ocean Waves Alumnae	Will raised funds and host fundraising events to support the Ocean Waves Flag Squad.	Chair: Ms. LaQuandra Gray

MENTORING

The Ocean of Soul Alumni Chapter (OOSAC) oversees the program that pairs students with mentors for an optimal experience during their Undergraduate Years. Students get support and advice regarding coursework, time management and career opportunities. Mentors can share their expertise and ease the way for their mentees.

DONATE to the SCHOLARSHIP

Mr. Ronald B. Thornton served as an assistant director for the Texas Southern University “Ocean of Soul” Marching Band from 1981 to 1988. Mr. Thornton would later become the Head Band Director of the Mighty Willowridge Eagle Band from 1988 -2009.

In his memory the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association Ocean of Soul Chapter established the Ronald B. Thornton Scholarship.  The recipients shall be University band students who have exemplified outstanding leadership as band members as well as in the classroom.

The Publications committee regularly reviews and publishes all alumni communications, including: Ocean Beat, Ocean Newsflash, OOSAC Announcements delivered electronically and in print.

RECRUITING

The Ocean of Soul Alumni Chapter (OOSAC) serves as the llprincipal recruiter for the band and collaborates with Ocean Faculty members in recruiting both music majors and non-music majors for the applied instrumental area of the Ocean of Soul.

HISTORY AND TRADITION

The Ocean History and Tradition committee seeks to develop among students, alumni, and friends of the Ocean of Soul Marching Band an appreciation for the Bands history and traditions. The committee's projects include the Ocean Time Capsule and Ocean Beat publication, which offers a historical tour of the Ocean of Soul, showcasing its rich history and the growth of the University Band over time.

FELLOWSHIP

The Ocean Soul is not only the largest and most recognizable organization on the campus of Texas Southern University, it is a family.  Ocean members old and young can connect and know that they are always welcome at home.
